Experience in the areas of environmental education, leadership development, and ropes course facilitation; Certifications desirable High level of physical fitness and be able to work at heights of 50 feet off the ground Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor Be comfortable leading groups of various sizes and participants of all ages Basic proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Excel, Word, property management systems, and the ability to learn new programs Demonstrated commitment to the mission, philosophy, and vision of YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly Ability to multi-task, set priorities and adapt to rapidly changing responsibilities Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Essential Functions. Facilitate programs for all outdoor recreational activities and in all program areas, both as the lead facilitator and as a team member. Communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers and groups. Help maintain all program areas and trails on the property.

Responds to all program participants and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner. Models relationship-building skills including Listen First in all interactions. Ensures a high level of service with a commitment to improving lives. Cultivates relationships to support fundraising. Collaboration: Champions inclusion activities, strategies, and initiatives. Builds relationships to create small communities.

Empathetically listens and communicates for understanding when negotiating and dealing with conflict. Effectively tailors communications to the appropriate audience. Operational Effectiveness: Makes sound judgements, and transfers learning from one situation to another. Embraces new approaches and discovers ideas to create a better member experience. Establishes goals, clarifies tasks, plans work, and actively participate sin meetings.

Follows budgeting policies and procedures, and reports all financial irregularities immediately. Strives to meet or exceed goals and deliver a high value experience for members.
